T-Mobile expects to double its enterprise market share in the next five years. The carrier announced their new goals on the heels of Verizon’s announcement that it planned to grow out its C Band spectrum, giving T-Mobile an idea of where their competitor is placing its bets. Verizon’s plan is to spend $45 billion on C Band spectrum licenses, with plans to install 7000-8000 C Band sites by the end of 2021.
In response, T Mobile announced plans to expand its 5G coverage and ramp up its enterprise offerings.
“T-Mobile will no longer be just a wireless phone company,” said Matt Staneff, T-Mobile’s EVP and Chief Marketing Officer. “5G is going to be the technology powering the next decade of innovation…No one is better positioned to deliver more scale, drive faster time to market, for these and other products to launch into the market.”
T-Mobile expects their investment in building out 5G to make them an on-demand provider for enterprise services, especially where networks are concerned. Their plan is to create a platform that not only supports standard wireless business needs, but also makes room for enterprise innovations and easy scalability.
