A new technology by the tech company Sentons could make your mobile phone even easier to use. The company has developed a technology that turns the sides and back of your phone into a place for buttons and scrolling. Your hands already rest in these areas, says Sentons CEO Jess Lee, so why not place buttons where they’d be easiest to access? Why not scroll using the side of your phone instead of the screen itself? The new technology is called SurfaceWave and it works to make the entire surface of the phone interactive.

Lee points out that smartphone users currently grapple with their phones, trying to hold them and use them at the same time. This new interactivity makes it easier for people to make changes without needing to use both hands.

SurfaceWave, the name for this new technology, gives off a small vibration when the user has touched and is manipulating a button or feature on the phone’s edge.

Founded in 2011, Sentons’ new technology is called SurfaceWave. They’re already in talks with many of the largest phone manufacturers in the world. SurfaceWave is available in some phones already in Europe and China, including many meant for gaming. Sentons plans to expand the technology to wearables and cars, making it easier to make changes without taking your eyes off the wheel.

These new features could make phones an even more valuable tool for enterprise-level customers seeking to improve the productivity of their employees. To learn more about how to maximize productivity and profit with mobile technology, contact Mobile Goods today.
