Google has revealed the new Pixel 4, its latest iteration of their Pixel smartphone, with a number of new features.
The new feature worth mentioning is the new radar motion sensor that allows you to talk with your hands. Imagine being able to make a broad swiping motion in the air above your phone to change the song or toggle between screens.
The new Pixel 4 also includes a Recorder app, which allows users to record and transcribe in real time. Color on the smartphone has also been updated, for clearer viewing and better high definition images. It now has second 2x rear camera, with a close-up lens that allows for better portraits and close ups. Although other phone manufacturers have included this technology in their phones for several generations of operating systems, this is Google’s first time including it.
Another update is a more powerful voice assistant that will allow users to set reminders, get directions and search and share pictures.
All of these features are available due to the inclusion of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, a more powerful processor than what has been found in previous Pixel phones. It’s the same processor found in Samsung phones.
The Pixel 4 is the same price as the Pixel 3. Preorders are now available; phones will ship October 24.
